Anmärkning: Innehållsbeskrivning, sammanfattning In this study the re-negotiation of traditional gender relations, anslysed as gender contracts, resulted in the segregation of the sexes and male supremacy. Women who entered the male-dominated work area were not allowed to take part in the most technical, advanced and best-paid work. But men who entered the female-dominated work soon came to dominate. They not only received technical training, while the women did not get any technical training at all but also higher salaries. The segregation of the sexes and the emergence of a male norm developed in both cases, in spite of the firm's organizational goals.
